This was so fun! I would've never looked up how to make an airplane, but it is always an entertaining thing to do where students have to follow steps to make it work. Using youtube videos always help, however, you also recommended the wiki how which can be another option.
Really fun idea! I like how it shows how research doesn't have to be intimidating and can be really fun! This would be a great introductory lesson for younger students or students new to the country.
